Beschreibung HERKUNFT UND ERNTEZEIT The borderland mountains near Laos and Myanmar, 2025 CHARAKTER A pressed tea made from thick, fleshy leaves, in which, likely due to the stronger rolling and longer sun-withering, the usual bold, smoky, and bitter notes have rounded out beautifully. To our surprise, the brew revealed an exceptionally sweet, full taste: while the resinous, sandalwood and tobacco-like aroma is still present, instead of raw wildness the dominant tones are fruity, warm, and sweet-spicy. A pleasantly characterful sheng puerh with depth and long aging potential. The tea gardens and villages along the Burmese-Chinese border represent a world of their own within puerh tea. The mountain villages near Laos and Myanmar are often home to ethnic minorities with strong cultural ties, and with deep-rooted teaprocessing traditions. Many places still preserve gushu, old-tree gardens with trees several hundred years old, often growing semi-wild and rarely in neat rows. The soil and microclimate of the borderland forests are often limestone-rich, mineral-laden, and marked by higher humidity. BENEFITS Geistige Energie, Anregend, Fruchtig, Aromatisch, Komplex, Kulturelle Erfahrung, Stark, Berggeschmack, Waldgeschmack, Wildteegeschmack DOSIERUNGS- UND BRÜHLEITFADEN According to the traditional Gongfucha tea ceremony, use 5g of tea for 1,5-2 dl of water (85-90°C), and infuse 10-12 times for 30 seconds.
