Beschreibung HERKUNFT UND ERNTEZEIT Yunnan, Xishuangbanna, Tianmen Shan 2025 CHARAKTER A thick and full-bodied shu puerh made from the big leaves and buds of old trees, fermented in 2017, pressed in 2025. Its brew has a portwine-like density and deep reddish-brown colour, showing notes of bittersweet chocolate, sweet potato and root vegetables, with subtle woody, earthy and animalic undertones. A heavy, concentrated and contemplative tea with an exceptionally rounded liquor, one that leaves no unanswered questions. Tian Men Shan – the Heavenly Gate Mountain – lies near the Chinese-Laotian border. Most of the tea trees on the mountain are old and grow in forested areas, almost untouched rainforest. The size of plantation-style tea gardens is strictly limited. Transportation in this border region remains challenging, and both the Chinese and Laotian sides are inhabited by the Yao ethnic group. It is a rugged area, characterized by dense, humid, misty weather, a climate that shapes the tea's unique character.
