Lao Zhai or “Old Village” is a small village near Ku Zhu mountain in Jinggu county of Simao. Lao Zhai is home to many old tea trees and sits on gently sloping south section of Ku Zhu mountain. This production is made from first flush of Spring 2013 and is entirely from Lao Zhai old tea trees which range in age from 80 to 200 years old. It’s naturally grown and harvested without the aid of chemical fertlizers or pesticides. The tea is lovely and thick with a mushroom character and little to no smokiness present. Brewed leaves are thick and stout with dark-olive green color. Limited quantity! 357 grams per cake! Yi Shan Lao Zhai Gu Shu Yi Shan Lao Zhai Gu Shu Classic Xinghai ripe pu-erh production. Entirely Menghai area tea leaves fermented in the Xinghai tea factory (in Menghai town). Aged for 9 years in Menghai town this lovely ripe cake is as mature as it needs to be! It will go 10 infusions delivery sweet and thick burgundy red tea that will bring you great enjoyment! 357 grams per cake!Another Xinghai production. but this time made entirely from fermented Bu Lang mountain material. Strong thick taste with a good amount of bitterness. Cakes have been dry-stored in Guangdong. This has a imparted a kind of heavy camphor aged taste. but without moldy taste or other wet stored unpleasantness. Additional aging will reveal more complexity and overall goodness.
