2019 Hai Lang Hao “Lao Ban Zhang” Ripe Pu-erh Tea Brick

$44.75 $72.05
In 2018 Hai Lang collected 240 kilograms of spring 2018 harvested mao cha from Lao Ban Zhang village and had it painstakingly small-batch wet piled to perfection. After 43 days of wet piling this light fermentation ripe pu-erh tea was stored for many months before being pressed (in 2019) into 500 gram bricks.   I have seen many productions of ripe Lao Ban Zhang teas over the last decade. but this are the only ones really worthy of being called “Lao Ban Zhang Ripe”. Hai Lang is a pu-erh dealer and producer who has been around for 20 years. He’s unapologetically direct and cares more about quality and one upmanship than he does about anything else. This is a good quality in a pu-erh producer. and it’s that very quality that allowed him to undertake the expense and the risk to wet pile such a tea as Lao Ban Zhang. For him. this tea represents authentic “Lao Ban Zhang Ripe”. often sold. and rarely. if ever (until now) actually produced.   500 Grams per brick   2019 Pressing This is a well aged Guangdong storage ripe pu-erh tea pressed in 2008 by the Lao Man’e Brand. This is composed ofa blend of gong ting. te ji. grade 1.3.5 ripe tea leaves wet piled from tea leaves harvested in the Ba Da mountains and Bu Lang mountains. The wet pile batch was done with a medium-light level of fermentation to preserve more of the raw “sheng” character of the tea leaves. The result is an aromatic tea withplenty of fruity sweetness and just a little bit of chocolate bitter character. 357Grams per cake 2008 Pressing Certified Organic by ODFDC ChinaThis is a well aged Guangdong storage ripe pu-erh This is a well aged Guangdong storage ripe pu-erh tea pressed in 2008 by the Lao Man’e Brand.
