Baldellia ranunculoides, or Lesser Water Plantain, is a delightful, tiny, native plant which is basically a dwarf Alisma. It has small, delicate, pale lilac or white flowers in profusion. Baldellia is easily overrun by bigger plants and so is best selected for small or tiny ponds with very shallow water. It is also excellent for covering baskets or pond edges.
